If you have been with us for a while you know that we are the EHarmony of pup-matching! For over thirty years, we have been bringing and sharing love and joy with the entire country (and a few countries overseas) via our precious Habibi Bear puppies. There is nothing else we’d rather be doing than matching families from all over to our wonderfully cute, empathetic, brave and loving little Habibi Bear guys and gals. It’s a true labor of love and we have got this down to a science. Over the last three decades, we have been perfecting our assessment and evaluation methods to ensure that those on our waiting list get that one in a million, perfect-for-them puppy when they follow our suggestions and recommendations. If you don’t already have a Habibi Bear pup of your own, here’s how you can get your dream dog.
Be Open to Gender
We know that you have a mental image or picture of who you think your dream dog will be, but do you realize when you limit yourself to a gender preference, that you are reducing your possibilities by no less than 50%? We strongly encourage those who have a stated preference to remain open and receptive to both genders, which gives you a 100% wider range of dogs from the litter. Our recommendation will be needs-based, depending on what your responses were on your Perfect Match Puppy Questionnaire, and the results of the puppy character trait assessment exercises we hold to find the match of your dreams. Every one of our Habibi Bear puppies undergoes a set of sensory exercises to determine who they are and where their strengths lie. We then match up traits and households, personalities and lifestyles, and being open to either gender goes a long way to the dog of your dreams. After all, as we have stated before, some of the perceived “unwanted” perceived gender traits (we are looking at you, “Humpty” Dumpty) are the result of an insecure dog of any sex, male or female, and will go away once the dog has built up their confidence with your reassurance and gentle leadership.
Be Open to All Colors
Did you know that strong Color Preferences also limit your chances for your dream dog? It sounds a little crazy but it is true. Let me explain our secret. Because we breed for temperament and health, we keep our books and gene pools open. The more open the gene pool, the healthier the dog. Our wide color range-everything from reds and English Creams, apricots to all black-make a spectacular range of possibilities for those lucky families on our waiting lists, and is a direct result and happy by-product of our focus on health and temperament. It is the open gene pools that keep the vitality of our hybrid breed in tip-top condition and in fine fettle. With a wide range of DNA to play with, we never know what color combinations or markings (phantom, merle, parti or tuxedos) are going to pop up and make an appearance. Some of our English Cream mamas have given birth to a litter dominated by merle boys, and some of our Phantom mamas give birth to predominantly apricots or reds. When dealing with Mother Nature, you never know what cards are going to be dealt. It’s always a delightful surprise to see what we get on that happy day when our mamas deliver. Certain clients have waited for a year or more trying to hold out for a particular coat color or eye color, or a combination of both, to be available. We can no more guarantee what colors the puppies will be any more than we can determine how many males or females will be born in a litter. If you keep your heart and options open, you may find yourself thrilled with what the Universe brings you.
